Tangle-free Cord Storage
Dealing with long tangled cords can be stressful. I've found coiling cords into a 5 gallon bucket very helpful. Start by plugging the cord into an outlet and then coil the remainder of the cord into the bucket. It allows you to pull out just the length you need for the job and then easily place it back into the bucket for storage. If working for long periods or continuous use with heavy loads, it is advised to remove from bucket because the cord could overheat.

Toggle-style Wall Anchors
Installing a toggle-style wall anchor can be a pain especially when the spring-loaded "wing" just spins endlessly instead of actually tightening. Try using an old serrated bread knife to engage the screw threads. With the handle wedged against the wall, it holds the wing snug against the drywall as you install the anchor.

Drilling a Hole in Drywall
Next time you need to drill a hole in drywall, try this tip. Tape an old envelope gently folded open under where you will be drilling. The envelope's mouth will catch the dust as you drill, making cleanup as easy as throwing out the envelope.

Painting Tip
When buying a new paint colour, have the paint desk make an extra label with the colour formula. Stick this label on the back of a light switch in the room for easy duplication if touch up is necessary.
